Icon Stryker CE Back Protector The Field Armor Stryker Back Protector starts with a custom molded bio-foam chassis. Designed to mold to your back, air channels within the foam allow heat to escape resulting in reduced fatigue. Secured to the chassis are three layers of impact abosrbing foam which are capped by an articulated reinforced plastic shell. The reinforced shell helps diffuse impact forces. In addition, the shoulder and waist straps are removable providing you with the option of installing the back protector into certain Icon jackets. "Safe Edge"
I'm a new rider and safety is the most important thing for me. I bought this item in the hopes that it will minimize a back injury in the event of an accident. I am rating this four stars for comfort and fit only. I really don't know how much protection it provides since I have not been in one while wearing this back protector. For the price, I think it is a good value and plus, it is CE rated level 2 -- not really sure what is involved in getting that certification, but at least some test has been done. I wish Icon would provide some video footage of how effective this back protector.
